Welcome to Ponthir Community Council
Ponthir Community Council represents the villages of Ponthir and Lower Llanfrechfa.
The Council is made up of 7 members who make decisions on the services and activities provided throughout the community and liaise with Torfaen County Borough Council officers when any other issues of interest or concerns arise.
The Community Council also works very closely with the local police and receive a police report about crime and disorder in the area on a quarterly basis.
The Community Council makes grants to voluntary organisations that serve the residents of our community. Details of our Grant Policy and Application Form can found in the menu above.
The Council’s monthly public meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at Ponthir District Sports Club, School Close, Ponthir at 7pm from September to March and at Ponthir Baptist Church, Station Road, Ponthir from April to August. Additional meetings may also be held to discuss Finance or Planning matters. All meetings are advertised in advance on the Village Noticeboards and on this website.
Residents are very welcome to attend any of the Council Meetings
